DEVELOPMENT OF ROAD SURFACE MANAGEMENT SYSTEM (RSMS) FOR PAVEMENT ROADS

ABSTRACT

This report consists of five topics which are 1) An Introduction To Road Surface Management System (RSMS). 2) Distresses in flexible pavement. 3) Pavement rehabilitation. 5) Conclusion.

First topic “An Introduction To Road Surface Management System (RSMS)” will briefly introduce the road surface management system. It also clarify the what information is required by RSMS and the benefits of RSMS. Second topic “Distresses in flexible pavement” has briefly explain all the distresses in flexible pavement and some pictures are shown in Appendix A. third topic “Pavement Rehabilitation” introduce three common rehabilitation Method. The fourth topic introduce the characteristic of RSMS.

A user manual and some prioritized reports can be found in Appendix. The RSMS which has been done can prioritize the roads on the condition and recommend a suitable repair strategy to the user. All the available repair technique will also be provided based on the repair strategy recommended.
