STUDY OF DEEP EXCAVATION

ABSTRACT

In my project, I have made some researches through the risks involved in deep excavation as the depth of excavated area increase more problem will tend to arise such as the most common type is the groundwater and how it impact to the excavated area. Other than that, I have also researched through the measure taken into account in order to overcome the risks or problems encountered in site. Factors that lead to such problems will also be discussed in my content. In addition I will also discussed the construction method used mostly in operating deep excavation and there are various types of method that I have discovered throughout my research will also be included in my content.

Apart from that, my content will also contain a case study on Genting Highlands where a car park 5 and 6200 rooms hotel were completed recently. In my case study, I have evaluated the risks occurred during constructing of this structure and how the engineers managed to overcome the problems and the construction method they used to construct this project. Finally, I have also understand the advantages of having this construction.
