ABSTRACT
As infrastructure development at a rapid pace throughout the region, the numbers of project carried out on cleared land of natural habitat such as wetlands are increasing. These projects causes harm to the ecosystem indirectly due to the clearing of natural reservoirs. Therefore it is important to know about the functions and the benefits wetlands can provide to our global community in order for us to preserve and if possible recreate artificial wetlands that has the same or similar capability of the natural wetlands.
The primary objective for this research is to study the benefits and functions of Wetlands and to determine the wetland’s water budget by calculation which is crucial in determining and planning to make use of the maximum benefits that wetlands provide to us. The data found in this research is also qualities as a references for information about wetlands. This research is also basically done to bring awareness to the public of importance of wetlands towards our environmental issue.
Even though wetlands provide us with umpteen benefits, however the knowledge to fully utilize them have to exist first and some could be found in this study.
