DESIGN OF HOSTEL

ABSTRACT

The project that I am dealing with is to design a Hostel Block. The size and component of this building is suitable for housing the amount of staffs for the moderate sized industry such as mass production bakery.

I would like to give you brief ideas on how are arrangement of the components, the type of component designed and the number of it before you move into the structural parts. This is a three-storey building and it is also a symmetrical building. There are two toilets and two kitchens at each floor, which is located at each and of the building. Each floor consists of ground floor, two rooms have being design as living room, therefore there are only ten bedrooms available. All together there are thirty-four rooms for the whole block, which can accommodate sixty-eight people.

This hostel is quite unique because the roof has being designed as a garden. Therefore, the residences can spend their leisure time relax and exercise there are staircase at each end of the building from ground floor until roof. It will be sufficient for the residences to escape in case of fire.

I ma sure you have a rough on my project and to understand more as well as to analyze the structure design, do refer to the calculation and drawings that I have done. In order to understand all the calculation, please refer to all the architectural and structural key plan.
