DESIGN OF TIMBER PEDESTRIAN BRIDGE

ABSTRACT

This project is about design and analysis a timber pedestrian bridge. Actually design timber pedestrian bridge is means construct a safe path for people to cross over a road, drain or even a river.

The bridge that I’m design is about 5m long and 1.5m wide. The main purpose is for people crossing a place which it is can not pass through by foot at the surface. Normally this type of bridge is for temporary uses and it can construct immediately if there are emergency demand. Timber pedestrian bridge usually is short span, and it is cheaper compare to steel and concrete. And it can be built at my time without influence by weather.

Commonly, people will think that timber pedestrian bridge is not need design calculation, but for insurance of safety it is necessary.
