ABSTRACT
This project is basically to introduce a simpler way for user to design beams, slab and determining punching shears on a specific area easily. This project is formed with the help of Fortran 77 compiler. It’s a good programme language for engineering equations but this programme is old. So, it is not so powerful compared to others new programme language like Visual Basic, C language, etc. I have attempted using Visual Basic 5 to do my project but the ‘forms’ in the programme language is very small. Therefore a lot of subrountines must be carried out. This will certainly be very tedious. The whole programme structure becomes very confusing and hard to understand.
I am very thankful that we learned Fortran Qbasic in our first two semester. But I personally think that we should learn another extra programme language. As Fortran and Qbasic are not very powerful programme languages. I believed we would be easier off if we are being taught with C language. C language is a better and more powerful programme language. It has better user interface. Besides it is better and faster.
