DESIGN OF A WOODEN LIVING QUARTERS SUITABLE FOR 20 PEOPLE LIVING IN THE FOREST

ABSTRACT

Wood is one of man’s oldest construction materials. Today it is still widely used to construct residential, commercial, and industrial buildings, as well as such varied structures as piers, bridges, retaining walls, and power transmission towers. In this project, I want to design of a wooden living quarters suitable for 20 people living in the forest.

In this project, I will consider about the stage of construction which include the features of the foundation which is soft or hard, pilling, build the structure and design a plan of the house. Before build the house, to prepare all the materials and instruments are needed, like all the kind of the wood which will be used, nail, hammer, pile hammer, pipe and etc.

For pilling, how deep to pile inside into the foundation, how to pile and what kind of wood to be used is need to know. After pilling, is built the structure, for this stage needed to design the area, the height and the plan of the house. It is important that for using the different types of wood to build the different part of the house. Then the zinc roof will be built.
