DESIGN A DOUBLE STOREY SEMI DETACH HOUSE

ABSTRACT

In this project, I have to design a double storey semi detach this is located near city with a good infrastructure. My design consist of first and ground floor. The dimension of the house is 44’7’’(13600) X 23’ (7000mm) which divided into ground floor and first floor. First floor consist of car porch, patio, living room, dining room, bed room-1, toilet-1, kitchen and a store room. Meanwhile, first floor consist of 3 bed room -2,3,4, balcony, 2 toilet -2,3 and a master bed room.

The main designs for this building are structural member of slabs, beams, columns, foundation and staircase. As force are first transmitted from roof to the trusses, secondly to beam/column, then to beam followed by column and lastly to foundation that will transfer all the load to the ground safely. Hence, I start my design from the roof and lastly is the foundation. The roof is design as double pitch roof.

There are three aims of design structure. The most important is the safety of this design. But the safety factor must do not access the limits of the economic building. And the design also must durable at least 5 year. Thus, in my design, I will first find out the maximum bending moment, axial loading or shear forced among the structural members of building.
