THE ROLE OF PROJECT MANAGER

ABSTRACT

I have narrowed down my project title to scheduling & tracking and have explained the importance of the title to a project manager thus given out the various methods pertaining to the sub-topic that I have chosen. Moreover I have explained the differences among the methods that I have describe thus suggesting which one is the best used for scheduling & tracking and why I have chosen that method.

For this project, I went to the site office to attain certain basic information like the duration and task names to do my own scheduling & tracking of the project based on the information that I have attained. There are together two projects but each are related to one another. The project is currently going in Sungai Buaya and is about the laying of water mains along a stretch of road to the housing area from a reservoir and also the construction of pump house & a suction tank.

I cannot really give a complete schedule of the both projects itself as the duration of the project does not allow me to do so because of the limited time given to me to produce this report of my project. The project had already started last year but only a few tasks have been completed. I have included in the actual start and also the scheduled start of the project so every detail could be obtained from the charts that I have made. The project spans for last year, 1997 till somewhere in the middle of this year, 1998. By then I would have completed my studies but the project will still be going on.
