ABSTRACT

This paper study the bamboo as engineering material. Bamboo can be used as an alternative for reinforcement in reinforced soil system. This paper also deals with a fundamental study on the reinforced slope. A laboratory test was taken to determine the tensile strength of bamboo and frictional angle between bamboo and soil. BS 8006 was apply to design the bamboo reinforced steep slope and the design example was illustrated.
