DESIGN OF A SMALL DAM

ABSTRACT

My project consists of both the analysis and the design of a small gravity dam. Instead of the design, I emphasize on the analysis part, as the design part tends to be simpler. The analysis includes the study of the forces involved in the stability of a gravity dam and the factors to be taken into account in the design of a gravity dam.

Generally, the design of a small dam and a large dam are similar despite the different in sizes. Therefore, my analysis part will be done based on large dams since references available are based on them. The method I used in my design is the static method.
