DESIGN OF A PORTAL FRAME FACTORY

ABSTRACT

On behave of the project title, Design of the portal frame Typed Factory, the targeted objective of the project is to produce a steel structure for the usage of a factory. The design has to be economical and could be applied in real life.

The clear internal appearance of the single-storey building is in constant demand for the warehouses and other purpose especially in industrial area. Based on its advantage and less maintenance, more and more portal typed factories are being set up. Subsequently, the results of this project could easily catered for the needs of the market.

Development of steel production leads to a faster construction in site. Prefabrication of steel reduces the amount of site work. There is also a more sophisticated use of composite construction over a wide range of applications. Anyhow, the design of the project is basically just emphasis on the portal design.

The portal may be of tree pinned, pinned base or fixed base construction. The pinned base portal is the most common type of the portal design. Therefore it is being considered in the project design.
