ABSTRACT

The content of this project report is to provide all the information concerning the engineering method, the analysis and the design outcome.

The junctions and the layout of the traffic light system are determined at the beginning of this project. The numbers of lane from each approach and the width of each lane is measured and drawn on the layout to scale for the located junctions. Besides that, the numbers of vehicle that pass through the junctions at the peak-hour for further design purpose.

This report showing the detailed procedures and calculations for the design of the traffic light system. The design of this project is considering the options to minimize road congestion, reduce delay for the road users and increase the road capacity. The design process of this report is the best method that can apply for any junction in order to install a new traffic light system or readjust the current traffic light system.
