ABSTRACT
It means that concrete is the mixture of water, cement, fine aggregates and coarse aggregates. As we know that coarse aggregates is a part of the concrete, so in this project is mainly focusing on coarse aggregates. This project analysis the effect of coarse aggregates on:
§
The compressive strength
§
The workability
Of concrete in terms of using
§ Different content of coarse aggregates in a mix of concrete
§ Different sizes of coarse aggregates in a mix of concrete
The test have been carried out by producing concrete cubes that dimensioned 150mm x 50mm x 150mm. These concrete cubes are in term of a fixed ratio between water, cement and fine aggregates. For coarse aggregates, the ratio will be different so that the effect of different quantity of coarse aggregates will be seen in the result of the compressive strength of the cubes.
There will be 5 different sets of different content of coarse aggregates and 5 different sizes of coarse aggregates that have been analyzed. The concrete cubes that have produced will be tested for it’s the compressive strength and workability on the 7th day, 14th day and 28th day. This will bring to a total of 225 cubes that have been produced in this project.
