APPLICATION OF TRAFFIC CALMING TECHNIQUES AT INTI COLLEGE

ABSTRACT

This project involves the implementation of traffic calming techniques in Inti College. To accomplish this, a study is carried out on the various different traffic calming techniques that are currently available. From this study, the traffic calming techniques, namely medians, chokers, speed tables, and textured pavements can the be applied to the roads in Inti College to provide a safer environment for students and also provided a means to beautify the streets.

A speed study of vehicles using the roads in Inti College is also carried out. This is to determine the effectiveness of current traffic calming techniques being used to determine the appropriate traffic calming technique to be used in problem areas according to the speed characteristic of vehicles in that area.
