IMPLEMENTATION OF INTRUSION DETECTION SYSTEM (IDS) FOR THE NETWORK IN A LAN ENVIRONMENT

ABSTRACT

In this project, the system is able to detect intrusion in the network with the use of and Intrusion Detection System (IDS). The Intrusion Detection System in this project focuses more to the intrusion detection in the network that will be implemented in a LAN environment. An IDS in a network has the purpose of blocking out hackers or crackers that can misuse the network by release viruses or threats to the network and bring the network down for a certain time. With IDS, the threat can be detected before it spreads throughout the network causing a very bad damage to the network and the system itself.
