STUDY AND DESIGN A PROTOTYPE NETWORK MONITORING SYSTEM FOR NETWORK ADMINISTRATOR TO MONITOR THEIR EMPLOYEES’ NETWORK ACTIVIVTIES

ABSTRACT

 

            This project is to study and design a prototype network monitoring system for company’s network administrator to monitor and keep track of their employees’ network usage. The system will capture all the incoming and outgoing packets and categorized the packets accordingly to their protocols. A graph will be created for each protocol for the administrator to view easily. The system will also keep track of the bandwidth of the network and the network traffic. The system is password protected so that only the network activities providing they have the correct username and password. The system can easily start to sniff the packets once the network cable is plug into anywhere of the network points available in the network. A log file will be created so that the network administrator can keep track of the whole activities that the employees’ had done.
