ABSTRACT

This project investigates and focuses on video-on-demand concept that enables clients to access and view videos simultaneously from the server. The project will basically focuses on researches of the video compression and streaming techniques. This includes setting up both server and client side applications that provide video streaming involving various processes including encoding/ decoding of the video files and streaming the media files over the network. This project is suitable to be implemented within a local area network (LAN) and is intends to reflect the future trends of video broadcasting and distance learning services enable in a networking environment. A VOD application will be developed for INTI student to demonstrate the capabilities of VOD.
