DEVELOPMENT OF A WAP-ENABLED INTELLIGENT INFORMATION ACCESS AND MANIPULATION SYSTEM

ABSTRACT

This project will focus on the study of the current WAP standards and architecture. This will also concentrated on the understanding of Wireless Markup Language that would be used for WAP development. Other than that, this project will also look into the services provided by the WAP service providers in Malaysia. The study on WAP will be used as the basis for the development of a WAP prototype. This prototype is mainly for the use of college students. Through this prototype, students can have access to information on their college by using a mobile device such as a hand phone. They can also check their marks and send e-mails to their lecturer. This prototype allows students to have access to information and services in an easy an convenient manner. They no longer have to be physically in the college to obtain information.
