A STUDY AND IMPLEMENTATION OF AN AUTOMATED SERVER DETECTION AND INTELLIGENT LOAD-BALANCING COMPONENT OBJECT MODEL (COM)

Microsoft has developed Component Object Models (COM) for many years but it has been fairly known and underdeveloped, except by Microsoft itself. COM is flexible and reusable, by any programming language. Load balancing and the automated switching of network servers have been gaining much attention from both programmers and users, as it improves availability and performance greatly. Organizations that use this technology have usually experienced expansion in their activities that need the use of more than one server even for only one department, This project aims to develop a reusable COM for future use by any programmers that wish to plug in the author’s COM into their application to manage the connection to network servers.
