ABSTRACT

The Messaging Alert System is a research about wireless cellular network, cellular technologies, wireless messaging and its protocols. Through this research, a system will be implemented that will eventually send out SMS to the members of the prototype. The program language to be used to develop the system is Java Language and the software development kit from the SimpleWire Company will be used to ease the development of the entire project. The function of the messaging alert system is meant to convery short and important messages via SMS to cellular phone users. It is to announce good news, publicize some events, inform meetings, and alert some happenings or any other matters that an individual or an organization wants to alert. The output of this research is divided into an application area and a documentation area. The application core function will simulate a message sending function to invoke request through a dial up modem to the web server, ensuring the sending of the SMS. Alongside with the application, a detailed study of the topic and the process of creating the application will be written in this documentation fro reference.
