IMPLEMENTATION OF REMOTE NETWORK COMMUNICATIONS IN MULTI-PLATFORMS OPERATING SYSTEM OVER A LOCAL AREA NETWORK ENVIRONMENT

This project studies and evaluates the existing Instant Messaging Technology such as ICQ, Yahoo Messenger, and MSN messenger for Windows platform whereas Jabber for Linux platform. The proposed system will have instant messaging technologies that are able to send and receive message across Windows Based Platform and Linux Based Platform. Another feature is File Transfer Protocol that is able to transfer files across multi-platform whereby the files are allowed to be sent and received between windows Operating System and Linux Operating System. By implementing this project successfully, a remote network communications system will be established for multi-platforms Operating System, which enables the users to communicate and transfer files without the restrict of operating system platforms
