IMPLEMENTATION OF SPEECH RECOGNITION WEB BROWSER WITH VOICE CONTROL CAPABILITY

ABSTRACT

The purpose of this project is to study on the speech technologies and apply it to develop a speech enabled we browser. Nowadays more people are going online for entertainment, education, chatting, bank services and etc. But the main input for the web browser are still using keyboard and mouse. Even though today speech technologies still cannot replace keyboard and mouse but it is still useful especially for those physically disabilities people. This project is tend to ease the way of navigation by applied the speech recognition technology. This project used Java programming to develop a web browser and Microsoft SAPI 5 engine for the recognition purpose. Java was used because it is object-oriented therefore enabled substantial code reuse. Besides this, the implementation of the web browser required additional component called NetClue Component, which is pure Java class use for development of web browser. The speech recognition is handling using Java speech API and Java Speech Grammar Format.
