A STUDY ON GPRS TECHNOLOGY AND TO IMPLEMENT A MOBILE RESOURCE MANAGEMENT SYSTEM (M-RMS) FOR A BOOKSTORE

ABSTRACT

 

            GPRS (General Packet Radio Services) is a step between GSM and 3G cellular networks. The main benefits of GPRS are that it reserves radio resources only wen there is data to send and it reduces reliance on traditional circuit-switched network elements. With the GPRS technology, the channel is used more efficiently owing to the possibility of more than one user sharing the same channel. This m-rms is a resource management and tracking system for mobile information devices. The system consists of 2 parts; customer can view the book’s information and reserve the books from the book store, while employed of the book store can manage their resources such as quantity of books by ordering the books from supplier by using their mobile phone from this system. The employee can access the functions by using password and username. This system will convenient for an employee by always keep in track of their stock no matter where they are. Besides, the system will alert the employee, when stock is under reorder level. As a conclusion, all jobs can be done using a mobile phone, no matter where you are.
