ABSTRACT

 

            This project address issues related to wireless technology to develop an application of Personal Digital Assistant (PDA). This study will investigate and develop a system which is called Library Management Information System (LMIS) fro INTI College Malaysia and enable the PDA device to communicate wirelessly to the server. This application can be used to control and manage the day-to-day task or processes for the INTI College Malaysia’s library, and to allow the members of the library to search and check for needed information in the library. This system is specifically designed to allow three differences of access levels for the users in the library, which are the top management, staffs and members to access the system via PDA devices or computer to perform their tasks. Besides that, this system will allow the top management and the staffs of the library to perform stock checking for the books and provide many kinds of useful management report on the day-to-day task. Other than that, the members of the library can also check and view their own account information like overdue books, borrowed books and personal information and can search the information of the library. In conclusion, with the PDA device, everyone can access the system around the area with convenient and effectively.
