ABSTRACT

This project intends to study and evaluate the existing types of client-server architecture and the techniques and technologies deploy in the development of it. The project further develops a working prototype of database application in web-based environment using multi-tier architecture to overcome the limitations of current client-server architecture. This project includes the design and implementation of high-speed, high connectivity, high transition, web-based database application and the creation of a component transaction server (CTS) to include transaction, security and thread management in this database application. Options are presented for database connectivity in a component-based development environment. With the use of component transaction server (CTS) as one of the tier, it provides scaleable, high-performing, multi-threaded transaction management systems for enterprise-wide information dissemination on the Internet.
