ABSTRACT

This project aims to exploring JXTA (‘Juxtapose’ or ‘Juxta’) protocol by developing a wide range of distributed services and applications in which every device is addressable as a peer. This project mainly focuses on the six protocols (Peer Discovery Protocol, Peer Resolver Protocol, Peer Membership Protocol, Pipe Binding Protocol, and Endpoint Routing Protocol) of JXTA. Base on the JXTA technology, this project will build an IM (Instant Messenger) that allows users to share files, create/join/leave peer groups, participate in a group chat room or one to one chat.
