ABSTRACT

This project investigates the study and implement a smart program – virtual PC doctor expert system – that can solve the normal and frustrating real PC processing problems of non-IT people. It is not merely to provide information for a person to think about, but also is concerned with the automation of the reasoning of all those things which nearly all of us can routinely do to various abilities in order to act and interact in the world and that only some people are good at, and which require extensive training. In short, the system is able to explain its reasoning on demand. This experts system contains practical knowledge obtained from the PC professionals. The four main components of Expert Systems are knowledge base, inference engine, justifier or scheduler and user interface. The problem solving mechanism includes reasoning, inference, searching and conclusions. The techniques are concerned how the developer represent, manipulate and reason with knowledge in order to solve problems. The knowledge engineer has to extract this knowledge and building the expert system knowledge base. Having decided that the problem is suitable extract the knowledge from the expert and represent it using this expert system shell. The programming language was used for development of this project is Visual Prolog or the CLIPS (C Language Integrated Production System)
