ABSTRACT
The project conducts a through literature review on wireless technologies applied on the computers. The project identifies the applicable characteristics of infrared communication for the implementation of Internet sharing software between a client and a server. It is also the a study of the way to create graphics user interface (GUI), infrared communication technology and client server techniques. In this project software are divided into two part that is the server side and client side. The proposed software will instruct the server receive the request from client’s Internet browser, search information through the Internet and then transmit back to the client. The transmission will be done using infrared communication with infrared data association (IrDA) protocols. Latest laptop computers have built in infrared transceiver that would allow the client, in this case is the user of the laptop computer, to access Internet via server computer using proposed software.
