ABSTRACT

One of the important copyright issues in electronic commerce is the copyright of images downloadable from the Internet. Copyright law could prevent people from coping other’s work, but one could claim a downloaded image to her/his own created by modifying it a little bit. The techniques of water making can be used to identify whether two different copies of images are substantially the same, and can also have originator’s information. A well watermark image should remain its watermarked for small modification makes substantial distortion on the image. There have been study on image water making, but mainly on raw images and the theory is far from being well developed. This project will mainly focus on water making images which can be put on web pages, such as GIF and JPG files.
