A STUDY AND IMPLEMENTATION OF SMART CARD TECHNOLOGY IN STUDENT ATTENDANCE MONITORING SYSTEM

This project focuses on the smart card technology. Smart card is still not widely used in certain organization, such as the education sectors. This project concentrates on the study and implementation of smart card for college studies. A reader is used to scan the smart card and the system will automatically store the time-in/ time-out of students’ day-to-day attendance in the database for further processing. The system will prompt the administrator upon any absenteeism. Specified reports such as weekly or monthly report can be generated upon request from the college administrator. Besides, this technology also provides better security from bearing intruders entering the premises.
