ABSTRACT

The purpose of this project is to let the lecturer in more convenient way to teach students during lab classes about UNIX operating System instead of using the real UNIX operating system. The real UNIX operating system need to be paid and it might be difficult to install for those who are not familiar with it. Therefore, through this proposed prototype system, students can play around with some of the basic UNIX OS commands, which related with files, directories, information and so on. This prototype is implemented in such a way so that it can be a possible as same as the real UNIX OS environment. It concerns about the standardization of inputs and outputs formats of the UNIX commands as well as the network environment, which is client and server architecture is also implemented.  Since the proposed system is prototype and purposely develop to focus on client part, therefore only client can play with the simulation of UNIX commands.
