ABSTRACT

Speech technology, the topic on which the author carries out investigation is broadly classified into two sub categories. Speech recognition is dealing with the technique employed to recognise human speech while speech synthesis undergoes the inverse process, which converts the text into languages spoken out by computer. A speech-enabled system will be produced as the outcome of the research. The system will simulate the hotel room reservation process in which the customer is guided and prompted in the entire reservation process. The customer listens to the computer and talks to the computer in the process of doing booking. The computer asks a series of question and listens to the customer answer, and finally reserves the specific room according to the customer request.
