A STUDY ON FUTURE OF WI-FI TECHNOLOGY AND TO IMLEMENT A PATIENT TRACKING APPLICATION FOR POCKET PC 2002 FOR THE USE OF HEALTHCARE PROVIDER

ABSTRACT

 

            Wi-fi technology lets people access a network and share resources wirelessly. The application is designed for the medical staff to use pocket PC to have up-to-date patient records when meeting patients in the nursing ward. Medication histories, laboratory results, alerts, inputs and outputs and other vital information are available on the pocket PC, hence delivering immediate access to the most current patient data at the bedside. The application also empowers medical staff with one-tap access to key patient information. After their rounds, the medical staffs cradle their pocket PC, and using a wireless connection, they can synchronize directly with the local database server without having to manually referring to the paper-based chart on each patient’s bed. The purpose of the wireless information is ensure patient information is deliver to the medical staff pocket PC to keep them updated on the move. The application also serves as a convenient alternative rather than fixed workstations. Possible technologies implemented include Microsoft Visual Tools. Net and Microsoft Embedded Visual Tools 3.0
