THE STUDY AND IMPLEMENTATION OF IOD (INFORMATION ON DEMAND) VIA SMS FOR STUDENTS IN INTI COLLEGE MALAYSIA

The aim of this project is to develop a 2-way SMS for the benefit of the students and the management on INTI College Malaysia. The system enables students in INTI College Malaysia to request for various categories of useful information provided by the college. The main function of this system is to disseminate information to the student upon their request for information using SMS to mobile phones. In the process of requesting for information by students, a message will be sent to the server of the system using a unique short code. The system will automatically generate the information based on the code sent. In this project, a research and investigation will be done on the concept of SMS, the technology and the technique involved in building this system. The milestones of this project are to determine the logic and the completeness of this application based on the needs of INTI College students and to establish a connection to a SMS gateway or a service provider to connect to major telecommunications companies. The system is beneficial to both students and management staffs because the process of receiving and dissemination of information is easy. As a result, the management will save a lot of cost, time and manpower.
