ABSTRACT

This project investigates the Auditory Brainstem Response used in medical fields for identifying children hearing loss. This investigation includes determining the functions, system specifications, methodologies and software and hardware used in this system. It then identifies the area of which enhancements can be made to this system. One of the solutions is to implement the Auditory Brainstem Response System to improve the effectiveness of identifying the early stage of hearing loss, data storage and retrieval, and data manipulation for better procurement. It further describes the essential and benefits and Auditory Brainstem Response System in relation to other data processing model and how it is going to keep track of the patient records up-to-date. Furthermore, this project will eventually implement with a prototype system that capable of monitoring patient’s hearing performance under the three types of test that can be identified permanent hearing loss soon after birth.
