AUTHORING TOOLS
SELECTION: PAGE-BASED OR TIME-BASED?

This report contains findings on the authoring tools as well as the selected tools namely Visual Basic and Macromedia Director. Their usage, functions and techniques applied to business organizations and applications are further described. The author has also identified some of the advantages and problems of these tools. Since there is no perfect authoring tool capable to generate all its own elements in developing an application, there is the need of these additional tools and elements. Possible solutions to the problems to suggested as the alternative in reducing the impact and overcoming the problems. This report also contains findings on the feasibility of the suggested solutions. Besides, the author has also foreseen the impact and possible future uses and challenges of these tools that might make these tools more powerful especially in developing business application. The findings and method used in developing a web page are also included in this report. The problems encountered and the solutions applied are also documented.
