ABSTRACT

Java script is an object-oriented scripting language that supports the development of both client and server components of web-based applications. Client applications run in a browser, such as Netscape Navigator and Microsoft Internet Explorer, and server application run on a server, such as Netscape Enterprise Server and Microsoft’s Internet Information Server. (IIS). Using Java script, we can create dynamic HTML pages that process user input and maintain persistent data using special objects, files, and relational databases. However, the Common Gateway Interface (CGI) is a standard that connects the web servers to external programs. It is used to process data submitted with forms and to send output data to requested web browser. But the focus will be on the server-side web applications. Java Script was used to refer to both Java script and Jscript unless it is referring to one but not the other. In these cases it is refer to the Netscape’s Java script and Microsoft’s Jscript.
