ABSTRACT

This project intends to implement the Digital Nervous System (DNS) at INTI College Malaysia by studying the implementation methodology that may help in improving college workflow and efficiency. DNS will act as a hub that connects all academic and non-academic staffs together with students and disseminate relevant information to the appropriate person rapidly and accurately. Three areas or components identified to be implemented in this project are namely the Enterprise Organization System (EOS). Electronic Membership System (EMS) and Enterprise Information Portal (EIP). The purpose of development of these three main components is to solve the current integration problems between these three categories of users (academic and non-academic staffs and students). Other critical problems such as the complexity of the office workflow and the need to disseminate information quickly and efficiently can be solved and overcome with the implementation of DNS. Areas in Microsoft’s web-based application programming tools such as ASP, XML and BizTalk Server 2000 will be thoroughly researched and the DNS will be developed based on these Microsoft’s latest technology.
