This project is to investigate the Active X technology with its reusable component, and then to develop a CDDB-enabled CD player with the use of Active X control. This project will require Visual Basic 6 to develop the software. In this project, it will involve 2 issues, one is Active X control and another is CDDB. CDDB is the world’s largest online database of audio CD information. CDDB stands for “CD Database” where it is simply a huge collection of files, each of which contains disc name, songs titles, artist name, and other information for a specific CD. Users are able to access the CDDB servers through the internet to retrieve the information for that particular CD.
