A STUDY AN IMPLEMENTATION OF ONLINE PURCHASING ON TROPICAL FISHES WITH DECISION SUPPORT SYSTEM (DSS) FEATURES

ABSTRACT
This project aims to
develop an Online Purchasing of Tropical Fishes with Decision Support System
(DSS) that facilitates the process of purchasing Tropical Fishes in Malaysia.
The users of the system are able to browse through the website and read on
general information of fish. Besides that, there are also tips on how to
prepare the fish tank so that the fishes will be able to blend into the new
environment much easier. The web-based system allows it users to make purchases
on four types of Tropical fish available, they are Koi, Arawana, Angelfish and
Goldfish. Apart from that, there is a site map, whereby users of the system are
able to search for a particular web page within the website with ease. The
author has carried out an investigation on the tools and techniques, which will
be used by the author in developing the system. The study includes the basic
features of each tool, which will be used. Besides that the author realized the
most of the companies now use the Microsoft SQL server to store their database.
A study on types of web structure design was carried out and the type of web
structure to be applied in the proposed system was chosen. Before the system
has been fully implemented, the author has produced a functional prototype by
applying the Active Server Pages (ASP) technology. A number of user interface
design and also database design is included in the report for further
understanding.
