STUDY ON TECHNIQUESON IMPROVING DOWNLOADINGSPED OF INFORMATION

This project aims to improve usage of the Internet especially for the process of downloading data or program from the Internet. One software will be produced in order to incorporates with this techniques. This project will discuss on how the Internet work with its component available. The router is one of the important components used in the connecting different types of LAN to perform WAN. It allows data to be sent while it is transmitted through the Internet. Internet Protocol (IP) states the common way for the LAN to communicate with each other. Without the IP, the LAN will not be able to connect to each other. The data transmission will later discussed and how the data transmit through the Internet. Furthermore, a packet will be discussed. Packet is to breakdown the large amount of the information or data into datagrams in order to transmit data through Internet. A Maximum Transmission Unit (MTU) will state the packet size which avoid the routers to split the packet into smaller packet by the various routers on the Internet and then reassembled before they get into the PC. A retransmission-timeout algorithms will later discussed which state the time that require the sender of the data to re-send again due to the reason that some packets have not arrived to the receiver computer.
