ABSTRACT
This project is to study the expert system and exploring the expert system development process in the field of Medicine Prescription. It is aimed to help the pharmacist in prescribing medicine for patients by applying the knowledge of medicine to the counter. It is also to enhance the process of retrieving extensive number of prescriptions. The system also gives the information about the medicine dosage and advising the possible side effects of the medicine. The project further describes a prototype system of expert system. The study will cover the areas of knowledge acquisition, knowledge representation, inference strategies and searching methods of expert system.
