AN ONLINE MUSIC GALLERY: APPLICATION AND INFORMATION KIOSK SYSTEM

ABSTRACT
This project is to develop an online music gallery
application and information kiosk system, with the primary purpose of helping
those people who are interested in music to search and purchase particular song
and album in a more convenient and efficient way. From this online music
gallery application, users or customers can obtain all the information about
the latest songs and albums, artists and information concerning music area.
This online application also enables users who are interested in purchasing an
album either cassette or compact disc by following an order transaction
procedures. In addition, a search engine is developed in this application where
users can actually search for their desire albums, songs or artist. One of the
most useful features provided by the online application is the song preview
feature. With these features, customers will feel satisfied after purchasing an
album. Basically this online application will be developed using Hyper Text
Mark-up Language 4.0 (HTML 4.0) and Javascript. Active Server Pages (ASP)
script will be utilized in developing the order form, search engines and other
application form. In addition, a research will be carried out regarding the
advanced features of HTML 4.0, the various popular plug-ins features such as
Macromedia Shockwave and the use of Javascript to perform validation of
application form in the client side. A short multimedia presentation will be
created using Macromedia Director and this multimedia presentation will be
included as an introduction on this online application. This project also
researches the methods, techniques and issues concerning the web server
security, access control and authentication.
