A STUDY ON SYNCHRONIZATION OF MUSIC AND LYRICS USING MACROMEDIA DIRECTOR 7.0

The aim of this project is to design, develop and implement a Karaoke authoring system using Macromedia Director 7.0. The software allows users to import their favorite songs and type in the lyrics of the songs. The audio file format for this system is MIDI (Musical Instrument Digital Interface) file format. MIDI file format is very popular used through Internet, as the file size is small enough to transmit along the Internet. This project will focus on the synchronization between music and lyrics. The author’s research is focus on the low-level synchronization. This means that it provides the continuous playback within one medium. This system provides several functions, such as song selections, import MIDI and lyrics, and play and stop the song.
