A STUDY ON E-COMMERCE SECURITY AND DESIGN A SECURE WEB SITE USING SELECTED ENCRYPTION ALGORITHM

ABSTRACT
Electronic commerce is emerging since the Internet technology is more and more matures. However, the popularity of e-commerce must much depend on two important aspects – the quality of product or services provided by the web site is related with the organization vision and objective, and also the business strategic and marketing objective. The quality of products and services can be achieved through business mean. The problem of security can be solved through technical mean. In solving the problems of security in Internet, many advanced security technologies to be used, such as cryptography technology, server security technology, Microsoft authenticode technology and so on. Based on these technologies, two important security protocols for Internet is introduced – Secure Socket Layer (SSL) and Secure Electronic Transaction (SET). SSL and SET utilize the cryptography technology and also Internet technology to provide a security solution for e-commerce. It’s a trend that both protocols to provide a security solution fro e-commerce. Both protocols is developed by many large company and is considered as “strong” security protocols.
