A STUDY AND DEVELOPMENT OF AN OPTIMISATION TOOLKIT FOR MICROSOFT WINDOWS XP

ABSTRACT
This study addresses issues often faced by various computer users while using Microsoft Windows XP platform. It focuses on the developmet of a set of system optimisation tolls that will analyze any of the operating system settings which cause the lost of efficiency and reliability of the computer and will provide guidance to the user with the best reccommendations on how to fix particular problem while optimising the system’s performance. This toolkit will also provide additional information on how to optimise computer performance settings through the computer’s BIOS, maintaining good computer performance, and disabling unnacessary services that are loaded into memory by Windows XP’s default startup settings. The toolkit enables users to tweak and change Windows XP default settings via graphical user interface. The system is designed in such a way that it maked the amendments session as easy as possible, allowing the user to optimize their system without any expertise and experience. This project studies on the Windows registry tweaking methods, settings and programming languages that can be used to produce a Windows XP optimisation toolkit. Ultimately, this project aims to help users to have a more reliable and efficient computer system to solve problems they are facing
