STUDY AND IMPLEMENTATION OF A BACKUP SYSTEM IN A CLIENT-SERVER ENVIRONMENT

ABSTRACT
This project studies in depth about the programming language and networking concepts that is going to be used in developing the system. Also a detailed study about the client and server environment and at the end of the study, a system will be implemented as a resource backup system for Microsoft Windows platform. This backup system will be implemented on the server. Therefore, the client must always share their folder or drive to allow the system to backup the resources. The client is able to configure the backup options, which suit their needs. When a backup is about to be made, the server connects to each of the client at a configured time and copies or pulls the files for backup. A backup log summary will be generated to allow the administrator or the client to view the results of the backup process
