* Students are required to renew their library membership from the 1st day onwards


 

CONDUCT OF MEMBERS

wSilence is to be observed in the library at all times. All handphones must be switched off. Users who is causing a disturbance, disruptive and unruly may be asked to leave the library.

wConsumption of foods, drinking and smoking are not permitted.

wNo bags allowed in the library. The library is not responsible for loss of any items in the library

wReservation of seats is not permitted. All books and articles left on tables and chairs will be remove by library staff.

wStudents without ID cards and not properly attired are not allowed to enter the library

wArrangement of library’s chairs and tables shall not be change or remove.

wAll books shall be put on a trolley provided once finished reading.

wUpon leaving, students are required to acknowledge their belongings, books and files to the staff at the checking counter.

wMembers caught mutilating or committing theft of library materials will be sent to the Disciplinary Board

wMembers found breaking the library rules will have their library privileges suspended.

wThe librarian may amend the library rules and regulations as and when necessary

LIBRARY COLLECTIONS

  • Reference Collection
    This collection contains a wide variety of materials, including dictionaries, encyclopedias, handbooks, atlases, bound magazines, journals, periodicals, annual reports and pamphlets.
  • Newspaper and Magazine Collection
    Local and foreign newspapers and magazines are available in the reading area of the library. The library will keep only a month's issue of those newspapers. All back issues of magazines will be sent for binding.
  • Red Spot Collection
    This is a collection of textbooks and reference books which are in high demand. This collection can be borrowed for 2 hours within the library or overnight.
  • Open Shelf Collection
    This is a collection of books on all subjects and is accessible to library users. Books can be borrowed out for 14 days.
  • Multimedia Materials
    The non-printed materials are kept in the Multimedia room. Only selected items are available to the students; lecturers can borrow them out for teaching purposes. The audio-visual materials include audio- cassettes, videotapes, diskettes and CD-ROMs.
  • Special Collection
    This is a collection of dissertations focuses on Engineering, Computing and Business. It is located in the special collection room accessible for all library users.


BORROWING RULES

  1. Members are responsible for all loans issued out in their names. They must report any damage/mutilation found in library materials before borrowing them out otherwise they are liable to pay for damages when the items are returned.
  2. All library materials must be returned on or before the date due. Library materials must be returned when recalled.
  3. At the end of a semester, all library materials must be returned.
  4. Student I.D. / staff cards are not transferable and may not be used by another person.
  5. Members must report loss of student I.D./library materials to staff at the circulation counter immediately.

Open shelf books

How to Borrow

  • Bring the book to the Borrowing counter.
  • Hand over to the counter staff the book, together with your student I.D.
  • When the book and your card are returned to you, the book is considered borrowed out by you.
  • Please check that the correct due date has been stamped.

How to Renew

  • Bring materials borrowed to the Returning counter.
  • Books that are not overdue may be renewed if other library members have not reserved them.
  • Renewal of books can be done only once by the same person.

How to Reserve

  • Members may reserve books which are on loan to other members by completing a reservation form available at the circulation counter.
  • Library books that have been reserved will be kept for 3 days from the date the notice of availability is posted on the notice board. They will be returned to the shelves or reissued to another borrower after these 3 days are over.

Red Spot books

  • These books may be borrowed for 2 hours only within the library upon presentation of student ID.
  • Red Spot books may be borrowed out overnight, starting from 5.30pm to 8pm and returned before 10am on the following day.
  • Reservation for Red Spot books may be made at the Red Spot section of the circulation counter.
  • Only one book may be borrowed or reserved at a time and the borrower must collect it personally.

Multimedia Collection

Video Cassettes

  • Academic staffs are allowed to borrow only one videocassette at a time.
  • Students are allowed to only borrow video for viewing in the viewing room. This video may be borrowed upon presentation of student ID card. The minimum group of people to use the room must be more than 9 persons.

Audio Cassettes

  • This collection is available only for lecturers as teaching materials.

CD-ROM and Diskettes

  • Only lecturers are allowed to borrow items from this collection if the items are supplementary to the textbook borrowed by them. Other users will only be allowed to use it in the multimedia room.
  • These materials are available from the Information & Reference Service Counter upon request by the library users.

Note:

       1. Renewal can only be made once for open shelf books

       2. Red Spot books cannot be renewed

       3. Other library materials are only to be used within the library

 


LIBRARY FINES
  1. Open shelf books
    Fines for overdue loans are calculated from the day the book is due to the day the book is returned. The rate is 50 cents per day, excluding Sundays and Public Holidays.
  2. Red Spot books
    Fines for overdue Red Spot books are calculated from the time the loan is overdue till the time the book is returned. Sundays and Public Holidays are not included in this calculation. The rate is 5O cents for the first 30 minutes and subsequently every half-an-hour.
  3. Loss of books / video tapes
    Borrowers who lose books/video tapes must pay for the cost of replacing the books/video tapes. Borrowers must report lost books/video tapes to the circulation counter immediately. Borrowers are liable to pay overdue fines, calculated from the date due to the date when books/video tapes are reported lost.
  4. Loss of CD-ROM and Diskettes
    Borrowers who lose CD-ROM and Diskettes will be fined RM5.00 for each item plus the cost of replacing the materials.


OTHER SERVICES

Library Orientation
For every new semester, library will conduct a library orientation for the new students.

Photocopy Service
Two(2) photocopy machines are available for users. The self-service machine requires a photocopy card, which is available to be purchased at the library’s Information and Reference Service or Finance Department.

OPAC Search
Online Library Public Catalogue(OPAC) also available in the library for users to search for any library items on the shelves.

Inter Library Loan (ILL)
Inter Library Loan is available between INTI International University College (INTI-UC) library and INTI College Subang Jaya(ICSJ) library. Students can get the ILL forms from the Information & Reference Service Counter.

Printing
Printing is available from any PC in the Multimedia Room. The rate of printing is 0.20 cents per page.

Scanning
Students may request this service through the Information & Reference Service Counter. The rate is RM2.00 per page.

Lockers
Renting of library lockers can be done at the Information & Reference Service Counter. Request have to be made by filling in a form and the rate is RM10.00 for a semester.

Viewing Room
Viewing room are used for viewing or screening audio visual materials.

Multimedia Room
Multimedia rooms are mainly for research purposes. Students must write down their particulars in the log book and the maximum period they can use a PC is one(1)hour.
